Food Feuds Food Network. Large or small, every city seems to have at least a rivalry between the food you have residents to discuss what makes local dishes superior establishment. Enter Iron Chef Michael Symon and the Food Network. Local rivalries are taking advantage this fall with Food Feuds, a new episode of the series premieres in August on October 14. Each episode has Symon and a cast of villagers settle two "fiefdoms" in cities across the country, with his plate on the line. Sounds like Throwdown Chefs on the town together.

Symon monitors each competition, and a panel of customers, local food lovers, journalists, critics and special guests will help determine the queen kitchen. First, the long-standing dispute between the great Philadelphia Cheesesteak is solved: facing long-standing rivals Pat fillets Fillets King against Geno (we're pretty sure that readers of Philadelphia and has an opinion about who is better). Other dishes featured throughout the season include the cheesecake from New York, fried clams in Essex, Massachusetts, New Orleans Po'Boys, Baltimore crab cakes and ice cream Cincinnati.

The fighting was limited to competition between the two establishments, essentially guaranteeing that a large number of other local diners and restaurant owners disagree with the options of the program. Given the symbolic foods to be tested, it would seem difficult to reduce to only two first choices. That said, the nature of the show opens the door for future competitions between past winners and new challenges. In fact, the culinary bragging rights are very powerful.
